Asian markets subdued; Nikkei down 292pts

Asian markets are subdued this morning ahead of the curcial Fed meet tonight.

The Nikkei has dropped 292 points to 15,936. The Hang Seng has shed 77 points to 24,522.

The Straits Times has slipped nine points to 3468, and the Seoul Composite index has declined 20 points to 1851.

The Shanghai Composite index, however, has moved up eight points to 5430.
