Asian markets up; Nikkei down 73pts

Asian markets are mostly up this morning.

The Hang Seng has surged 224 points to 24,109. The Shanghai Composite index has moved up 11 points to 5305.

The Taiwan Weighted index has advanced 33 points to 8956, and the
Straits Times index has added 21 points to 3397.

However, the Nikkei has slipped 73 points to 16,347, and the Seoul Composite index is down eight points at 1866.
