Asian markets weak; Nikkei down 388pts

Asian markets are exhibiting weak trend this morning.

The Hang Seng has slumped 672 points to 24,443. The Nikkei plunged 388 points to 13,396.

The Taiwan Weighted index has tumbled 112 points to 7,989. The Straits Times index has slipped 86 points to 3,054, and the Seoul Composite index has declined 33 points to 1,690.

The Shanghai Composite index, however, has gained 28 points at 5,180.
