With an aim to boost performances of the state level public sector undertakings (PSUs), Assam on Wednesday, for the first time, awarded three of its “best performing” companies.
The three state PSUs that were awarded on Wednesday are Assam Gas Company Ltd. (AGCL), Assam Petrochemicals Ltd. (APL) and Assam Co-operative Jute Mills Ltd (ACJML). The state awards to the “best performing” state PSUs were introduced by the department of public enterprises in the year 2010-11 to reward the PSUs which have performed well during the year and to encourage those PSUs which can perform better and achieve success.
