Karnataka cabinet today decided to hold a 10-day legislature session from January 6.
Governor H R Bhardwaj would address a joint session of the Assembly and Legislative Council on the opening day. The Cabinet also gave the go-ahead for raising Karnataka State Industrial Security Force — on the lines of Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) at the national level.
The state force, to be established at a cost of around Rs 27 crore in the first phase, would initially have a personnel strength of 1,060, official sources said. There was no media briefing after the cabinet meeting in view of the model code of conduct in force because of the Taluk and Zilla Panchayat elections slated for December 26 and December 31.
