Assocham ups cap on patron members

The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India today increased the ceiling of its patron members from 75 to 100. As part of this exercise, 10 new members, on the waiting list, were enrolled in the chamber.
 
Some of the corporate houses that were admitted in Assocham's patron membership include Gitanjali Gems Ltd, Cosmos Industries Ltd., Shreya Life Sciences Pvt. Ltd., Assam Company Lltd., Global Infocomm, Sidho Mal & Sons and Vakrangee Softwares Ltd.
 
Some of the corporate associate members that were enrolled today include AR Airways Ltd, Ahlcon Parenterals (I) Ltd., J K Business School, Jindal Global Finance Investment, SEZ Infrastructure Developers, Sutherland Global Services and Zoom Developers.
 
Other inductees, in the ordinary member category, include India South Africa Chamber of Commerce and Industry, Central UP Chamber of Commerce and the Employers' Federation of India.
 
Earlier this year, Assocham had hiked the ceiling from 50 to 75 to accommodate large corporate houses in its managing committee. The chamber had also changed its Articles of Association to enroll members who were waiting to be admitted to the managing committee.
 
Responding to an increasing demand to raise the ceiling on patron membership, Assocham increased the cap to 100.
 
The chamber has also approved the enrollment of over 40 corporate associate members and one associate member in the chamber, according to an Assocham release.
