The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India (Assocham) has urged Prime Minister Manmohan Singh to direct the chemicals and fertiliser ministry to reshape its clinical trial approval processes within a stipulated period of 30 days for domestic pharma companies.
At present, India takes a minimum of eight months to approve clinical trials while in countries such as Canada, the UK, the US and the Netherlands, clinical trials approval are accorded within a month, Assocham said in a statement.
