Attack On Us: Corporate Air Travel Takes A Hit

The terrorist attacks on the United States has forced companies to cut down on air travel, driven by a fear of air travel coupled with cost-cutting.

Wipro had already halved the number of its executives travelling out of India due to the economic slowdown in the US which accounted for 75 per cent of the outbound traffic. Worried about the safety of its employees, the company has now put a complete stop on travel to the US, till at least the end of this month, a Wipro executive said.

Other companies are resorting to similar measures. The number of event participations, seminars and business development promotions except for client meetings have been reduced across companies like Infosys, Satyam, NIIT and Wipro. With these companies issuing statements like
