Australia Chef de Mission Steve Monoghetti today expressed satisfaction over the facilities being provided to the athletes and delegates of his country in the Commonwealth Games Village here.

"We are working very hard. We have brought the largest team from Australia. We are enjoying a comfortable life in the Village," Monoghetti told Australian media.

Australian athletes too appreciated the food, transport and security being provided to them by organisers here.

"It has been pretty good. The dining hall is fantastic, it is same as Melbourne. And the security is top notch out here. I feel completely safe and secured," said lawn bawl player Lynsey Armitage.

Elated over her first of its kind experience in the country, Lynsey said, "Being in India is a life-time opportunity."

The facilities also impressed Australia's Press Attache, John Gartfield.

"We are really very happy with the facilities. The Commonwealth Games village is superb. Dining area, practice venues, residential complexes are really better. Our athletes are not facing any problem here," said Gartfield.

He said about 100 athletes have already arrived checked in at the Village and about 250 more would be descending in the Capital in the next three-four days.

The praise from the Australian contingent will come as music to the ears of the much-criticised Organising Committee, which has been under-fire from different quarters for the shoddy preparations of the Delhi Games.
