The All India Congress Committee (AICC) General Secretary in charge of Orissa, Gulam Nabi Azad today reviewed the debacle of the Congress in the recently held assembly and Lok Sabha elections in the state. Senior party leaders of the state including Orissa Pradesh Congress Committee (OPCC) president K P Singhdeo, working president, Lalatendu Bidyadhar Mohapatra and Bhakta Charan Das were present in the meeting.
Azad listened to the unsuccessful party candidates about the causes of their defeat as a post-mortem of the party’s poor performance in the twin polls. Various ways of strengthening the party in the state was also deliberated. Leaders and activists from all assembly segments participated in the meeting.
