The bail prayers of two directors of AMRI Hospital, where over 90 people choked to death from a fire in the basement last December 9, came up for hearing before the Calcutta High Court on Wednesday.
Appearing for directors R S Goenka and Prashant Goenka before a division bench presided over by Justice Ashim Kumar Roy, senior counsel Balai Roy prayed for bail submitting that they had been in custody for 107 days.
He submitted that three directors of the AMRI board had been released on bail, of whom two were given bail by the district court and the third by the high court.
Roy submitted that investigation was complete and the chargesheet submitted in the case and as such the accused should be granted bail.
Twelve directors and four employees of AMRI Hospitals were accused in the case.
All of them were charged with culpable homicide not amounting to murder.

While three were granted bail, three others were absconding.
The matter was adjourned for the day and hearing in would be taken up tomorrow.
