UN Secretary General Ban Ki-moon would attend the Summit meeting of the Non-Aligned Movement in Sharm el-Sheikh, Egypt next week.
In his address to the NAM Summit, Ban would encourage Non-Aligned Movement to build on its leadership role among nations to address today's challenges, UN spokeswoman Michele Montas told reporters at United Nations headquarters.
"Those challenges include disarmament, the economic crisis and the implementation of the Millennium Development Goals," Montas added. Ban would return to New York the following day, she said.
