Normal life was affected in the Telangana region except in the state capital on Tuesday due to a bandh observed by the Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) and other pro-Telangana outfits.

TRS has given a call for the shutdown in the backdrop of two persons in Warangal district, a student and an autorickshaw driver, committing suicide in the past few days for the cause of a separate Telangana state.

Commercial establishments and educational institutions remained closed in most parts of Telangana, while the public transport services remained unaffected as they were exempted from the shutdown in view of the ongoing examinations for Class X.

The bandh was peaceful with no untoward incidents being reported. Businessmen voluntarily downed their shutters as a precautionary measure at many places in the region.
