Our Bureau BUSINESS STANDARD

The Bangalore International Airport Ltd and the Government of India has reached a consensus on the concessional agreement and would formulate a framework during this week.

As per the recent discussions held between the officials of BIAL and the Ministry of Finance, a concessional fee of 4 per cent of the total revenues would be payable from the first year of operation itself.

Having granted a grace period of 10 years for the concessional fee, it would only continue to accumulate during this time. But for the next 10 years, BIAL would pay a 4 per cent concessional fee along with one-tenth of the accumulated concessional fee, every year.

According to sources, we will formulate this understanding on paper so as to ensure a general consensus on the concessional agreement.
