Bangladesh Industries Minister Dilip Barua today invited Indian investment into his country saying the bilateral co-operation would help both nations reap benefits.

Calling upon the Indian business community to invest in his country, Barua said, "When we are investing in your country, you should also invest in our country."

The sharing of industrial technology and knowledge-based industries between India and Bangladesh was the need of the hour to reap mutual benefit and "we also need to work together to face the global meltdown", he said.

Barua, who was speaking at the closing programme of Tripura Industries and Commerce Fair, 2010 here last night requested the Tripura Chamber of Commerce and Industries to take the lead in carrying forward the bilateral spirit in industry and socio-culture.

Tripura Industries and Commerce minister Jitendra Chowdhury requested the Bangladesh minister to expedite the process of using Chittagong port by Indians.

"I have come to know that a technical report on allowing India to use the port has been placed before the Bangladesh government. This process should be expedited for mutual benefit," he said.

He said the government would allocate place for the proposed Bangla bazar very shortly, where goods from Bangladesh would be sold.
