Banks record 65 pc C-D ratio in Karnataka

 This was announced by Michael Bastian, the CMD of Syndicate Bank and chairman of the State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC). Reviewing the performance of banks in Karnataka under the annual credit plan as on June 2003, he said the banks had raised an aggregate deposit of Rs 64,342 crore and extended advances of Rs 41,812 crore with a credit-deposit (C-D) ratio of 64.98 per cent. They invested Rs 7,393.20 crore with the state government. The credit plus investment to deposit ratio was about 76.47 per cent.

 Bastian said that the banks had disbursed Rs 2142.10 crore to priority sectors during the first quarter of the current fiscal.
