Basic Players Come Round On Rural Sector Obligations

Faced with the threat of losing their licence, private basic operators have decided to end their confrontation with the government on the issue of fulfilling rural telephony commitments . In an internal meeting held on Wednesday, the members of the Association of Basic Telecom Operators have agreed to fulfill their village public telephone (VPT) obligations. However, they will continue with their efforts to impress upon the government to give them financial support for the project.
