Bel Bags Order For Microwave System In Tn

Bharat Electronics Limited (BEL), a Government of India enterprise under the ministry of defence, has received an order from Tamil Nadu government for supplying, installation and commissioning of 2 GHz 120- channel Digital Microwave Communication System on turnkey basis.

This communication system will form a state-wide Digital Microwave Network for Tamil Nadu Police. The total value of the project is at Rs 8.02 crore.

The digital microwave network will comprise 28 microwave links and will enable high quality transmission and networking of speech, data and fax messages among all district headquarters and state headquarters at Chennai.

BEL will carry out system design and manufacture, supply, install and commission the 2 GHz 8 MB microwave radios, antenna, multiplexers and exchanges along with towers and power supply systems in a short time of seven months.

 

Meanwhile, three new executive directors have assumed charge at BEL. SL Prasad has taken over charge as the executive director (Central Research Laboratory), R Ramachandramurthy and M Eswara Rao have been appointed as executive directors for information systems and personnel, respectively. While IV Sarma has assumed charge as head of the Taloja Unit of BEL.
