Buoyed by the expansionary phase of infotech and infotech-enabled services (ITES) companies in the state, West Bengal is eyeing a 52 per cent growth rate in software exports in the current fiscal, while aiming to contribute 15 per cent of the country's total infotech revenue by 2010 from 3.5 per cent now. |
"In the last three quarters of the current fiscal, we have grown by 53 per cent. We hope to clock a growth rate of 53 per cent in software exports from the Kolkata Software Technology Park over our last fiscal revenue of Rs 1,200 crore," said Information Technology Minister Manabendra Mukherjee. |
Observing that the growth rate was over a lower base, he said even then, an over 50 per cent growth would be a great impetus for future growth. |
