Kolkata IT and ITES sector will add 20,000 executives by 2006, said state information technology minister, Manabendra Mukherjee. Presently, there are around 16,000 executives in the sector in the city.
The minister also added that the direct employment in the e-governance project would be another 20,000 executives over the same period.
Mukherjee was speaking on the sidelines of the inauguration of Databazaar India, a captive BPO and the Indian arm of Databazaar.com the internet division of the Rs 250 crore Databazaar group of companies.
