Former Union minister H R Bhardwaj, who had failed to make it to Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s new Cabinet after the recent Lok Sabha elections, was today appointed as the new governor of Karnataka.
Bharadwaj, whose appointment was announced today by Rashtrapati Bhavan, would replace Rameshwar Thakur, who has been transferred to Madhya Pradesh.
President Pratibha Patil has also appointed Devanand Konwar as the governor of Bihar. Konwar will replace R L Bhatia, an official release said.
