Bharti eyes all-India presence

 In what could signal the end of the war between cellular and basic telecom service providers, Bharti Tele-Ventures today applied for six new unified licences to operate in Jammu and Kashmir, Uttar Pradesh (east), Rajasthan, West Bengal, Bihar and Orissa.

 Telecom analysts said Bharti's move indicated that cellular operators were softening their stance against unified licensing. They said the fact that Bharti, which was spearheading the Cellular Operators
