Bharti, MTNL cut tariffs

 While MTNL has brought down its international long distance call (ILD) tariff from Rs 24 per minute to Rs 14.40 per minute for its Delhi and Mumbai subscribers, Bharti has introduced new short messaging service (SMS) packages at 60 paise a message in Delhi.

 While bringing down the ILD call rates by 40 per cent to the US and Europe, MTNL said the reduced rates would be applicable for a one-month period starting on 24th October midnight.

 Bharat Sanchar Nigam Limited (BSNL) had recently brought down its ILD call rates to as low as Rs 7.20 a minute, while Airtel had brought it down to Rs 9.99 a minute. While the BSNL offer is valid for a one-month period, Airtel will offer the reduced rates for three days during Diwali.
