Bhel Corporate R & D Budget Pegged At Rs 97 Crore

The division proposes to establish two centres of excellence

The Hyderabad-based Research and Development (R&D) division of the Bharat Heavy Electricals Limited (BHEL) has received an R&D budget of Rs 97 crore for the current financial year, an increase of 29 per cent over last year's budget of Rs 75 crore.

Of the total budget, Rs 81 crore is meant for revenue-related projects, while the rest is allocated to set up two centres of excellence. For the current fiscal, it is aiming at a turnover of Rs 12 crore.

Disclosing this here today, S Balagurunathan, the executive director of the R & D Division, said that significant achievements were made during the just concluded fiscal in the areas of design and development of products, systems, processes and software.
