Leader of the opposition in Bihar Assembly, Sushil Kumar Modi, yesterday sat on a 24-hour fast before the Jaya Prakash Narayan roundabout to put pressure on Laloo Prasad Yadav "" the most corrupt chief minister of the state "" to declare his property and to implement the Bihar Prevention of Specified corrupt Practices Act, 1983. Modi, who has launched a crusade to unearth several scams that had taken place in the state during the regime of Yadav, told newsmen that the present Chief Minister had proved to be the most corrupt and irresponsible.

According to the leader of the opposition, during the past six years of Laloo's misrule, scams totalling about Rs 10,000 crore had been unearthed, which included the animal husbandry scanm, land scam, bitumen scam, forestry scam, medicine purchase scam and the cabinet racket.
