Bihar's power tariff revision, which comes after a three-year status quo on prices, has come as a  shocker to consumers. The Bihar Electricity Regulatory Commission (BERC) has approved an unprecedented 55 per cent increase in electricity tariff. The hike is expected to boost distribution companies' (discoms) kitty by Rs 4,700 crore.
