Bijnore BSP candidate gets notice for remarks against Varun

A BSP contestant from Uttar Pradesh's Bijnore Lok Sabha constituency has got a notice from the election authorities for violation of model code for his alleged remarks against BJP leader Varun Gandhi, official sources said today.      

The notice has been issued to BSP candidate Shahid Siddiqui for allegedly making objectionable comments against Varun Gandhi, BJP contestant from Pilibhit, in an election meeting in Bijnore few days ago, Assistant Returning Officers of Bijnore S B Singh said.      

The notice was issued following a complaint lodged by a lawyer Sandeep Bahal, he said.      

Meanwhile, several BSP activists have been booked under violation of poll code for holding an election meeting at Jansath Town in the district without permission from the concerned authorities, Deputy Superintendent of Police V K Vedh told PTI here.
