The company has already taken 50 acres of land for the purpose. The project is scheduled for commissioning by December next year, said Mahima Datla, the vice-president (strategic business development ) of BE, here today.
The 50-year old closely-held company with a distinction of being the first private sector vaccines manufacturer in the country, is celebrating its golden jubilee on Wednesday.
BE is one of the major producers of sera and vaccines in the country, besides a large number of products in the therapeutic segments of cough, digestive, nutritional, anti-infective, anti-anaemic, anti-ulcerants and anti-inflammatory.
About 30 per cent of the company's Rs 150 crore annual turnover comes from vaccines, while the rest is contributed by pharmaceutical products.
The company has so far supplied over 1.2 billion doses of vaccines towards meeting the immunisation needs of the country.
