Yashwant Doiphode, deputy director of Maharashtra health services, said survey work was going in the three districts. However, no incidence has come to light where any bird or a person was found to be infected with the h5n1 virus, he said.
Vivek Narayan Bharade, district animal husbandry officer of Pune, said a survey was carried out at all the 13 blocks of the district and no case of bird flu was found among the birds.
He said a detailed meeting of officials from the animal husbandry department of 13 blocks was held in the morning. Subsequently, a co-ordination committee was set up at the district level under the chairmanship of deputy commissioner of animal husbandary department K R Singhal.
Bharade said similar committees for preparedness have also been set up at the block levels. Besides, two colour team and two vaccinating teams per block have also been formed. The colour teams would be responsible for culling, he added.
