Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) joint director U N Biswas yesterday refused to comment whether the agency would arrest Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav following submission of the chargesheet against him in the Rs 950 crore fodder scam.

I will not like to comment upon whether and when we will arrest him (Yadav), Biswas told reporters soon after submission of the chargesheet.

Biswas said nearly 13 of the accused, including three serving and a retired IAS officer, had been arrested in connection with the conspiracy angle of the scam and remanded to judicial custody by the designated court.

Denying reports that the submission of chargesheets against the chief minister and other politicians in the case was delayed following the intervention of the Prime Minister, Biswas said, we dont seek instruction from anywhere other than our director who is the head of the investigating agency.

The chargeshheets were very voluminous and thats why it took a little time, he said.

Claiming the case against the Laloo Prasad Yadav and others as very strong, Biswas expressed confidence that it would not fall through the scrutiny of the court.

We have a stupendous task ahead which is to complete investigations into all the remaining of the 48 cases instituted in connection with the scam, he said.
