The BJP yesterday flayed Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Farooq Abdullahs repeated suggestions that the actual line of control between India and Pakistan in Jammu and Kashmir be converted into an international boundary.
The party questioned Abdullahs locus standi to make such suggestions and demanded that Prime Minister Deve Gowda should ask Abdulah to keep within his limits. The party further demanded that the PM should call an all party meeting to discuss the issue in detail.
Indias position on the status of the Pakistan occupied territories (PoK) was clarified by the parliamentary resolution of February 22, 1994.

The resolution had said : Jammu and Kashmir is and shall remain an integral part of India. PoK must vacate the area of the state of Jammu and Kashmir which they have occupied through aggression, Sharma pointed out.
Even Abdullah is bound by the parliamentary resolution, he asserted, adding we will not tolerate betrayal of Parliament.
He reminded Abdullah that some Assembly seats in J and K have been left vacant for representatives of the PoK.
