BJP for CBI probe into stamp scam

 Only a day after Congress chief Sonia Gandhi asked Prime Minister Atal Bihari Vajpayee to reveal the names of Union ministers trying to influence heads of public sector undertakings (PSUs) chiefs, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has tried to turn the table on her by accusing the involvement of top Congress leaders in the Rs 30,000 crore stamp paper scam.

 BJP chief M Venkaiah Naidu here today said the Congress must ask the chief ministers of Karnataka and Maharashtra to allow the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) probe into the scam. Naidu who was intriguingly silent on the issue till yesterday, today demanded an independent probe.
