Senior BJP leader and former MP from Patna, C P Thakur, yesterday termed as baseless and slanderous Chief Minister Laloo Prasads accusation that he (Thakur) had recently donated Rs one lakh to the underground pro-landlord army, Ranvir Sena, responsible for Sundays Haibaspur massacre of ten dalits.

The charge of having donated a sum of Rs one lakh to the banned Sena is politically motivated and aimed at tarnishing my image, Thakur told reporters here. The Chief Minister, while talking to reporters here yesterday had claimed that several of the accused arrested in connection with the massacre had named Thakur and a BJP MLA from Paliganj, Janardan Sharma, as patrons of the Sena.

The police lodged an FIR against the two leaders on the basis of the confessional statement which said they had donated Rs one lakh each to the Sena in the recent past, Prasad said.
