BJP machine rolled over Cong satraps

 Union Agriculture Minister Rajnath Singh was attending a crucial meeting of the Food and Agriculture Organisation (FAO) in Rome when he was directed by his bosses to cut his visit short and rush to Raipur.

 Singh, who was in-charge of the Chhattisgarh poll, was summoned to help forge alliances and win over allies if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) fell short of a majority, as it appeared when results began trickling in.

 The BJP leadership was not optimistic about its prospects in Chhattisgarh. The victory, however, surpassed all expectations and later in the day Singh appeared to be much more relaxed as the BJP was poised to get a comfortable majority in the state.
