BJPMPs have asked finance minister Yashwant Sinha to reconsider the cut in income tax exemption for small savings to 10 per cent. The MPs have also asked for withdrawal of the hike in postal tariffs.
The party MPs would meet Sinha before the passage of the Finance Bill in May to discuss these issues, BJP spokesman VK Malhotra said today, after a BJP parliamentary party meeting.
The members have also conveyed their displeasure over the hike in postal tariffs to the communications minister Pramod Mahajan, he said.
