The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) announced that it would launch an aggressive campaign called "Sansad se Sadak tak" to protest against the "wrong" decisions taken by the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government.

Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi, BJP general secretary, said along with this campaign, the party would also organise a "Rashtriya Suraksha and Swabhimaan Saptah" on July 6 with senior leaders of the party like leader of the opposition LK Advani, BJP chief M Venakaiah Naidu, MM Joshi, Pramod Mahajan and Arun Jaitley addressing public meetings throughout the country.

The issues that these two agitations will focus on are the removal of NDA appointed governors, appointment of tainted ministers and the recent spurt in terrorist activities.

Special focus will be paid to the Ishrat Jehan encounter case, where the BJP has taken the view that Ishrat had terrorist links and the "pseudo-secular" parties were making her a hero for their own interests.
