"We will induct a member of the minority community into the ministry in the first round of ministry making, as we are sure to form the government," BJP Chief Ministerial candidate B S Yeddyurappa announced at a press conference.

The BJP has not fielded any member of the minority community in the elections. "BJP wanted to give tickets to at least two members from the minority community. But we were not sure of ensuring their victory. Hence they could not be accommodated," he said.

Apparently angry over the Congress and JDS supporting Samajwadi party candidate S Bangarappa who is contesting against him in the Shikaripura constituency, Yeddyurappa said both parties should declare Bangarappa as their chief ministerial nominee so that there could be a level playing field in Shikaripura.

Meanwhile, Bangarappa's close aide, Paramashivaiah today joined BJP along with his supporters. He said Bangarappa is not keeping good health and should not have contested.
