Senior BJP leader L K Advani today said that the BJP government, if voted to power, “will start pension scheme for farmers, those completed 58 years like retirement pension to the employees after 58 years”.

Addressing a large election rally at Satana tehsil town of Nashik district for the BJP’s candidates from Nashik, Dindori, Dhule and Nandurbar parliamentary constituencies, Advani said it was shameful that the country’s 20 top rich people have properties equal to the ones held by 300 million poor people in the country.

Advani criticised the United Progressive Alliance (UPA) government, headed by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. He said that so far, 15 prime ministers have run the central government, but Prime Minister Manmohan Singh’s government was “weak”.

The senior BJP leader said that people were fed up with the UPA government and they appear to have decided to throw out the government in the coming Lok Sabha polls.

The BJP’s state unit chief, Nitin Gadakari, also addressed the meeting. He criticised Cong-NCP governments in state and at the Centre. The ensuing general elections, to be held in five phases, begin on April 16, and will continue till May 13.
