BJP seeks continuation of schemes

The BJP has urged Karnataka Governor Rameshwar Thakur to continue the welfare schemes launched by the erstwhile JD(S)-BJP government in the state.

"It has come to our notice that various schemes such as Bhagyalakshmi (financially empowering the girl child) are not being implemented statewide. Any welfare scheme has to be continued till the objective is met," former chief minister B S Yeddyurappa said here on Wednesday.

The BJP intends to submit a memorandum to the governor officially to seek the continuation of the welfare schemes. "It has also been reported that the beneficiaries are facing discrimination in selection. The governor should take note of these drawbacks," he added.
