BJP Sena ties under strain

The BJP wants to renegotiate distribution of seats with the Shiv Sena in Maharashtra in the light the latter's insistence on fielding its candidate in the upcoming Chimur byelection.

"We will take Chimur as a case for total renegotiation of seats with the Shiv Sena in the Maharashtra Assembly," a BJP leader said.

The BJP believes it has a fair claim on the Chimur seat, vacated by a Narayan Rane loyalist, as the Shiv Sena does not have a strong candidate.
