BJP today said it will give a "structured response" after receiving details of the Allahabad High Court order dismissing its candidate Varun Gandhi's petition seeking quashing of an FIR filed against him over his alleged hate speech.
"For us all options are open. We will wait for a certified copy of the verdict of the decision to give a structured response to the issue," party spokesperson Balbir Punj told PTI.
He said Varun's case would be decided only in the highest court of the people.
"As far as Varun Gandhi's case is concerned, it is a clear case of political conspiracy and vendetta, which would be decided only in the highest court of the people of the country," he said.
Stepping up the attack on the Election Commission on the issue, Punj alleged that it was in a "tearing hurry" to decide on the matter without properly examining the genuineness of the CD.
"It is really sad that the Commission seem to be in a tearing hurry to come to a decision mysteriously announced on Sunday night and that to without properly examining the genuineness of the CD which is the prime material available in this case," Punj later told reporters.
He also alleged the Election Commission is taking "pro-active" actions only in certain cases.
