BJP to push for review

BJP Parliamentary party spokesman Vijay Kumar Malhotra said the party might ask the government to review CAS, if it found that consumers' interests were being hurt.

Although Malhotra did not elaborate on the kind of review he was referring to, he said the Act to implement CAS was passed to benefit consumers. "If cable operators are threatening consumers, we will request the government to review the Act ," Malhotra said.

Malhotra explained the BJP's position in the wake of serious complaints against cable operators coming from the residents of south Delhi, the first zone in the Capital where CAS was being implemented.
