Charging Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad with culpability in scuttling the multi-crore fodder scam, party spokesman Yashwant Sinha apprehended that Prasads continuance in office would jeopardise the investigation process. Pointing out that Prasad had not been interrogated by the CBI, despite suspicion about his involvement, Sinha demanded that the CBI should immediately raid Laloos houses.

Sinha had a tough time explaining to newsmen the provisions under which a Governor could sack the Chief Minister enjoying confidence of the Assembly. Pointing out that a Chief Minister is appointed by the Governor, he stressed that the latter could withdraw his pleasure from the person occupying the post of Chief Minister under exceptional circumstances.
