The BJP yesterday warned the Jharkhand Mukti Morcha (Shibu Soren) against supporting Bihar Chief Minister Laloo Prasad Yadav, and said that such a step will further discredit the JMM-led movement for a separate state.

The party urged Bihar Governor AR Kidwai to restrain Yadavs government from taking any major or policy decision as it has been reduced to a minority. Yadav has admitted that his government has been reduced to a minority, party spokesperson Yashwant Sinha pointed out.

He alleged that Yadav would try to buy JMM MLAs by using his position. He asked them not to fall for Yadavs promise of granting autonomy to Jharkhand council in exchange for their support to his government.

The JMM leaders had charged that Yadav cheated them by granting limited autonomy since all of the 182 members of the Jharkhand area autonomous council (JAAC) were to be nominated, he pointed out. By rescuing Yadav from the present crisis, the JMM leader would be selling their statehood demand once again, he added.

The BJP leader criticised Congress president Sitaram Kesaris statement that the Congress would not support a BJP-sponsored no-confiodence motion againt the Bihar Chief Minister. This demonstrated that the Congress was looking for alibis to save Yadav, he alleged.

He dared the Congress to bring a no-confidence motion against Yadav if it had objections to a similar motion sponsored by the BJP. The BJP would support such a motion and see to it that Laloo was voted out.
