Blame game has begun between the CPI and CPI(M) in Andhra Pradesh over seat-sharing in the elections which they said has led to the failure of the "Grand Alliance" in capturing power in the state.
CPI(M) state secretary B V Raghavulu blamed the CPI for the row over Mangalagiri assembly seat which was the bone of contention between the two parties before the elections and the CPI hit back at him on Monday.
"It was allotted to us by Telugu Desam. The CPI(M) made it a big issue and CPI(M) top leaders had to intervene over the matter. Prakash Karat and Sitaram Yechury should not have to intervene over such small issues. It is unfortunate if Raghavulu blames us over the issue," CPI state secretary K Narayana said.
While CPI won four assembly seats, CPI(M) has bagged only one seat. The TDP, CPI, CPI(M) and TRS fought the elections together as partners of the "Grand Alliance".
