The Bombay High Court today rejected a petition of the suspended Indian Premier League (IPL) chairman, Lalit Modi, seeking resonstitution of the disciplinary panel of the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), which will conduct an enquiry on alleged irregularities by him in IPL.

A division Bench of the court said it was not going into the merits of Modi's petition. The disciplinary committee itself could decide on the reconstitution when it met on Friday.

The Bench, however, said it would be open to Modi's challenging the final finding of the committee and that he could also raise the issue of legality of the committee's constitution.

The bench also said it would leave it to the present committee members to decide if they should withdraw on moral grounds.

Modi had challenged the cricket body's decision to suspend him and pleaded for reconstitution of the disciplinary panel and quashing of disciplinary proceedings against him.

WSG offices ransacked
World Sport Group (WSG) issued a statement on Thusday saying its offices in Mumbai had been broken into and ransacked on Wednesday night.

"WSG employees arriving for work found the main door broken open and called the police. The police are carrying out an investigation and collecting evidence," the company said in the statement.

WSG has been at the centre of a controversy since BCCI terminated its agreement with it for IPL's international media rights, on June 28. BCCI had cancelled the agreement over the issue of "facilitation fee" WSG received from MSM, the IPL broadcaster in the Indian subcontinent.
