India needs to launch a massive sales campaign to promote 'Brand India' in Russia, a Confederation of Indian Industry (CII) report on trade relations between the two countries has said. |
The paper, released on the eve of the visit of Russian Prime Minister Victor Zubkov, states that some Russian consumers feel Indian products are not of good quality. |
According to CII, in 1991, Russia's share in India's total trade was more than 9 per cent. Currently, it stands at a meagre 1.06 per cent. This pales in comparison with China, which is Russia's fourth-largest trade partner. |
According to CII, achieving the targeted $10 billion bilateral trade by 2010 will require at least 50 per cent annual growth in the next two years compared to the existing average level of about 20 per cent. |
