The interest subvention of 2 per cent on pre-shipment export credit from March 31, 2010 in certain sectors like handicrafts, carpets, handlooms, small and medium enterprises has been extended by one year
Package for women
The outlay for Women and Child Development has been increased by almost 50 per cent. A mission for empowerment of women is being set up. The ICDS platform is being expanded for effective implementation of the Rajiv Gandhi Scheme for Adolescent Girls. A Mahila Kisan Sashaktikaran Pariyojana to meet the needs of women farmers is being launched, with Rs100 crore.
Push on sezs
The aim is to ensure growth of SEZs which have attracted significant domestic and foreign investment. Exports from SEZs have grown by 127 per cent in the first three quarters of 2009-10.
