The death toll has risen to fifteen after a bus skidded off an icy road in Shimla. Nineteen have been injured officials said Friday.
The state roadways bus was on its way from Chopal to Dharchana when it rolled down a hill side near Nerwa some 125 kms from here. The injured have been admitted to nearby hospitals, said Onkar Sharma, deputy commisioner Shimla .
Last week, Shimla received the heaviest spell of snowfall in the past six years in January. These roads are prone to skidding and accidents. Many of the snow-bound areas are still without electricity. More snow has been forecast by the met office from Sunday.
