C S Rao To Be Revenue Secretary

Finance minister Jaswant Singh has a new team to present the Budget for 2003-04. Expen- diture secretary C S Rao has been appointed revenue secretary in place of Ajai Vikram Singh who has been shifted to the ministry of non-conventional energy sources as secretary.

Finance secretary S Narayan will continue to hold charge of the department of economic affairs.

Banking and insurance secretary D C Gupta will take over from Rao as expenditure secretary.

Special secretary in the urban development ministry Vineeta Rai, an IAS officer belonging to the Union Territory cadre of the 1968 batch, has been promoted as secretary, banking and insurance, in the ministry of finance.

 

Ajai Vikram Singh was not keeping good health and had requested for a lighter portfolio.

The director-general, tourism, V K Duggal, has been posted as environment secretary. The vice-chairman of the Delhi Develop- ment Authority, P K Hota, will fill in for Vineeta Rai in the urban development ministry.
